ispecializedinaountingattheaountingcollegeofuniversityoffinanceandeconomics.anundergraduateeducationinthespecialtyofaountingcoversknowledgeinawiderangeoffields—economics,managementscience,mathematics,statistics,andevensociology.whileprovidingmewithasolidacademicfoundation,thiseducationhasenabledmetoferretouttheareasthatcanreallycapturemyinterest.ihavecherishedastronginterestinmathematicssincetheprimaryschoolanddevelopedmytalentsallthewaythroughmymiddleandhighschool.butitisonlythroughmyundergraduatestudythatihaveetorealizethevitalimportanceofmathematicalapproachestothestudyofeconomics.thisveryrealizationhasfurtherreinforcedmydeterminationtochoosethecareerofanappliedstatisticianinthefuture.towardsuchanobjective,ihavedevotedspecialeffortstothestudyofmathematicsandstatistics.apartfromintensiveworkinsuchpulsorycoursesascalculus,linearalgebra,theoryofprobability,statistics,andmathematicalstatistics,ihavealsoattendedaseriesofimportantoptionalcoursesincludingoperationalresearch,gametheoryofeconomics,samplinginvestigationandmadefulluseofmysparetimetolearntheknowledgeofstatisticsasmuchaspossible.myundergraduateeducationshouldbedescribedasveryrewardingandfruitful.forthepastthreeconsecutiveyears,ihavemaintainedtoprankinginmyclassandfortwoconsecutiveyearsiwasgiventhe“outstandingstudent”award,winninglevel-ascholarships.ihavedemonstratedspecialaptitudesinmathematicsandinenglish.mynaturaltalentsinmathematicsandmydedicatedeffortstomathematicscourseworkhaveledmygpainallthemathematicscoursestoreach3.9,farexceedingthelevelofaveragestudents.intermsofenglishlanguage,ihavealsobeenwellaboveaverage.inthefirstsemesterin1999iwonthefirstprizeatthe“freshmencup”englishlistenprehensioncontestandin2001iwonthefirstprizeintheenglishcontestforcollegestudentsinchina,thethirdprizeattheoralenglishcontestinprovince.eventhoughihaveassumedvariousresponsibilitiesforextracurricularactivitiesofseveralstudentanizations,ihavestillmanagedtoperformwellacademically,afactthatshouldbeattributedtomyextradiligence,productivestudymethods,andeffectiveallocationofmytimeandenergy.fromtheveryoutsetofmyundergraduatecareer,imadeupmymindtofullyexploitalltheavailableresourcesofmyuniversitytoachieveprehensiveself-developmentandwhatihaveachievedadequatelytestifiestotherewardingundergraduatelifeihavebeenliving.
