When you are trying to recall an email, it’s better to be always polite. Here’s a checklist of things to consider before you send.
Is the email simple? If not, it could create confusion and waste time. Edit words and sentences until the message is as tight as you can make it without losing its meaning.
Is it effective? Correspondence, particularly for business, has to be right the first time, as you may not have another chance to connect with the recipient(接受者).
Is your email necessary? We all spend too much time asking others to do things that are essentially frivolous. Ask yourself what would happen if you didn’t send the email. If the answer is “nothing much,” then delete it.
Do you want something done? If your email requires action, make sure you follow it up. And don’t fall into the trap of forwarding something just to pass the buck. Ask yourself if you are moving things forward or just moving them off your own desktop.
Dos and Don’ts
Don’t use CAPITAL LETTERS ―it’s equal to shouting.
Don’t send emotionally charged messages. If you wouldn’t say it to the recipient’s face, don’t send it.
Don’t email confidential(机密的) material. It could end up in the wrong hands. Send a letter instead.
Do be specific in the subject line. Your message could get deleted if it looks like spam(垃圾邮件).
Do answer at the top, not the bottom, of an email. It’s annoying having to roll down the bottom to read a response.
Do stick with black font(字体), no larger than 12 points in size. This is the easiest type to read.
51.A frivolous email is usually .
A. not simple B. unnecessary C.ineffective D. too long
52.If your email is written in capital letters, it may mean .
A. you are angry with the recipient

53.If you want to inform someone of something secret, you had better .
A. tell the recipient face to face B. send an email to the recipient
C. write a letter and send it by mail D. store it in your own puter
54.If you don’t fill in the subject line specifically, your email .
A. will be difficult to read
B. will force the recipient to roll down the bottom to read
C. may be sent to other people mistakenly
D. may be removed as junk information

Attention, please! I’m going to give you a summary of today’s discussion about whether we should go online in our spare time.
Some students think we can go online in our spare time because we are free. Through the Inter, we can gain plenty of the newest knowledge and the latest news at home and abroad. What’s more, work offers us a convenient way to municate with each other.
I think we should make proper use of the Inter. What's the most important is that as students we should put our hearts into our studies.
That’s all. Thank you!
