e a sports star. They need much practice and much sweater. Today I want to talk about two unusual sisters from America. They do well in tennis and win many champions. They are Venus and Serena Williams. Now let’s look at how they can sueed.

T: Venus and Serena Williams are the two youngest of five sisters. The others are Yetunde, Isha, and Lyndrea. Their father started teaching them tennis when they were four years old. Venus and Serena play tennis professionally- a sport in which very few people of African descent are involved. Venus’s first singles title was the IGA Tennis Classic in 1998.

第三步 阅读文章

(1) First Reading

呈现出七题true or false question , 然后让学生进行快速阅读,完成这项任务。

学生单个回答并改正错误

(2) Second Reading

学生通过first reading,完成了七题 true or false question后,基本对课文有一定的了解,然后呈现出五道选择填空,要求学生再进行第二次阅读,对课文进行更深入的了解。

通过两次阅读让学生对课文熟悉,训练学生的阅读速度和解题技巧,最后通过work in pairs,以培养学生的归纳能力为目的,要求学生归纳每段的主题。

第四步 巩固练习

呈现课文里出现的重点词组,然后通过选词填空,进行对语言运用能力提高,区分它们的用法,最后学生one by one 地说出答案。

第五步 分组讨论

为提高学生对生活中的热点问题发表自己观点的能力,提出话题“what’s the advantage and the disadvantage of being a sports star”,把全班同学分成若干个小组,每个小组找一名记录员,记录组员的意见,然后分别提交,进行汇总,全班讨论。

7.Discussion

(1) 老师以课件形式提出讨论的话题“what are the advantages and disadvantages of being a sports star”.引导学生进入资料库,从资料库里查找自己需要的资料。

(2) 学生分成若干个小组,然后从手上查找出来的资料进行筛选,让后作出相应的总结。

(3) 小组派代表发言,老师归纳总结。
