在捷克，人们时常会在圣诞节这一天预测来年有没有好运气。预测方法就是将一个苹果切开，如果切第一下的时候就能看见苹果核，那就代表来年会有好运气，如果没有看见，那就预示着第二年做事情都不会顺利。女孩们会将自己的鞋子抛过头顶，当鞋子落地时，如果鞋尖指向门，那么就预示着这个女孩子来年会出嫁。
