如今，足球已经成为最受人们欢迎的娱乐体育运动之一。在日常生活中，从小孩到大人有空的时候都会踢踢足球。它可以帮助人们放松，获得健康。但却没多少人知道每年的十二月九日的特别意义。这一天是世界足球日。这是源于1935年12月9日的学生游行。在中国共产党的组织和领导下，北平市学生联合会率领北平市6000多名学生举行示威游行。学生们高呼“打倒日本帝国主义”，“停止内战，一致对外”等口号。他们的示威引起了了全国人民抗日民主运动的新高潮。为了纪念此次学生运动，联合国于1978年把12月9日定为世界足球日。
