产生代沟的原因有很多。孩子们想要自由的选择自己的朋友，选择在学校自己的班级，规划自己的未来，自己挣钱自己花，和一般运行自己的更独立的生活方式比父母允许的。同时，年轻的孩子们希望能够得到父母的，但大多数父母不太了解他们的孩子。他们认为这是他们教他们的后代的传统信仰的责任。他们想让他们听话，在学校做得很好。因此，误解往往从父母倾向于干涉孩子的日常活动。
