ThisisthemainentrancetotheSummerPalace-theEastGateOntopoftheeavesofthedoorthereisaplaquebearingaChineseinscriptionwhichmeans“GardenofNurturedHarmony”,whosecalligrapherwasEmperuangxu.Thegatethatyouarenowenteringwasusedexclusivelybytheemperor,theempressandthequeermother.Allothersusedthesidedoors.
